As a fur parent, your dog is everything to you. You do everything together and are inseparable 24/7. This is why dogs become so loyal and loving to their hoomans. To them, their hoomans are their family and will always be home.
Samantha Orr, a 21-year-old college student had a Goldendoodle named Bentley. He was practically her best friend and her fur baby. So when they got into an accident and the pup went missing, Samantha did everything to look for him.
The tragic accident happened when Samantha went on a trip with her mother, Jennifer in Pueblo, Colorado. Jennifer was driving up a very rocky mountain while Bentley was seated at the back of the car. However, their car eventually fell off a cliff and plunged 600 feet down the hill.
During their crash, Bentley got ejected from the car and went missing. Unfortunately, Jennifer passed away and Samantha spent weeks at the hospital recovering from her rib and back injuries. Everything was going rough for Samantha but she didn’t give up on looking for Bentley.
As soon as she got better, Samantha put up posters online about her missing pup. Eventually, a man named Joseph Stratman saw her post and decided to drive around the rocky hills of Pueblo, Colorado. He then saw a pooch and called Samantha to check if it was Bentley.
They came back to the mountain and saw the dog. Samantha got emotional as soon as she saw the doggo. It was indeed her Bentley! It took the pup a minute before he recognized his fur mom, but when he did, he ran towards her arms happily.
Samantha couldn’t believe that Bentley was back with her after going missing for 19 days. Bentley seemed very dehydrated, malnourished, and had matted fur. It is amazing to think that this doggo was able to survive three weeks alone in the mountains.
The accident was very traumatic to Samantha and Bentley but they are both grateful that they are finally reunited again. Now, they can actually spend more time with each other again and heal together as they move forward with their lives.
