Devonte’ Terrell Graham brought home a German Shepherd puppy and named her Charlotte. The NBA Charlotte Hornets player recalled how timid his pup was when he first got her.
Devonte’ shared that Charlotte followed him wherever he went and would not leave his side at all. He recalled how tiny Charlotte was, but it did not last long because she grew into a massive German Shepherd she was always meant to be.
Devonte’ believes that Charlotte immediately fell in love and acclimated quickly into his household. Devonte’ admitted that he does not like leaving Charlotte alone in the house, so he always ends up bringing her with him wherever he goes since she does not mind going out for little car rides.
Devonte’ shared that Charlotte also loves playing fetch from the third floor of his house. Charlotte would sprint down the stairs to pick the toy up, bring it upstairs, ask him to throw it downstairs again, and would keep doing it until she gets tired.
Devonte’ recalled that Charlotte’s mischievousness started when she grew big enough to reach the top of the counter. She began stealing all sorts of food, including slices of pizzas and homecooked snacks.
Devonte’ shared that Charlotte does not do it every time, but she would immediately run back to her kennel, lock herself up, and give her biggest puppy-eyed look as soon as he goes to her cage for a light scolding. He believes that Charlotte does that if she does not want him to leave or he did something that upset her.
Devonte’ said how grateful he was for having Charlotte because she changed his life for the better. Coming home to Charlotte makes all the stress worth it because she does not mind whether he wins or loses his basketball games since all that mattered to her was to be with him at home.
