Franny is a beagle that has spent most of her life trapped in a small cage. The adorable pooch was born and raised in a puppy mill in Australia, and her existence was for the sole purpose of breeding puppies. The neglected pooch lived in a filthy environment, surrounded by hundreds of other dogs. The overcrowded cages were placed on top of each other, and the animals led very stressful lives.
Thankfully, a nonprofit rescue organization named Animals Australia learned about their predicament and started its own investigation. When they had enough evidence of animal abuse, the authorities helped them shut down the puppy mill’s operation.
Franny was finally getting a taste of freedom.
Simultaneous barking
Police officers, along with rescuers from Animals Australia, conducted a rescue operation to retrieve the dogs staying in what they considered to be the biggest puppy mill in Australia. When they entered the facility, they were met with hundreds of dogs barking at them simultaneously.
The rescuers were horrified at the condition that these trapped creatures were living in. They were rarely taken out of their cages, and as many as ten dogs were forced to live together in cramped spaces. The area was also very dirty and foul-smelling.
When Franny was found, she was along with her puppies, which were estimated to be a few weeks old.
A new life
Franny, along with the other dogs, were transferred to various shelters. They were given treatment and eventually found loving owners. Franny was among the lucky ones who didn’t have to wait long for their forever homes.
Today, Franny lives happily with her family, enjoying the kind of life that she never knew existed. The rescue beagle now gets frequent exercise and loves the feel of grass underneath her paws. Her owners dote on her and shower her with love and attention every day. The dog has gone a long way from her life in the puppy mill, and hopefully, the other rescue dogs found their happy endings too.
