When a house in Georgia caught on fire, the family living inside it was able to get out. Unfortunately, their pet dog, Taka, was on the porch when the fire started.
When Taka’s family realized that their beloved dog was trapped on the porch, it was already too late. They tried to rescue him but the fire has already spread throughout the house and there was no way for Taka’s family to get back to save him.
Taka was trapped and couldn’t escape the burning house. However, the fire caused the porch to collapse and Taka fell along with the smoldering debris. Thankfully, Taka survived and ran to the neighbor’s house. He was found by the neighbor but had burns all over his body. Taka’s condition was bad and urgently needed medical help to survive. He was eventually taken to Care More Animal Hospital where he received life-saving treatment from the amazing veterinarians on duty.
The vets couldn’t believe what they were seeing when they first saw Taka. Most of his body was burned, which included his eyes, ears, and belly. Most of his fur was also burned off. On top of that, he had trouble breathing due to inhalation burns.
Taka’s eyes were severely injured from the fire and needed to be surgically removed. As a result, he went blind. The veterinary team who treated Taka thought that he didn’t have a chance to survive due to the extent of his injuries. However, they still treated him and hoped that a miracle would happen.
The vets worked hard to keep Taka alive. Unfortunately, Taka’s family didn’t have the money to pay for the veterinary bill, which was increasing by the hour. They had no choice but to sign Taka over to the animal hospital. Thankfully, one of the veterinarians taking care of Taka, Dr. Emily Martin, assumed financial responsibility for Taka’s care.
Ever since Taka was brought to the animal hospital, Dr. Martin had been there for him. She knew that Taka was scared and in a lot of pain and she felt sorry for Taka. To comfort him, Dr. Martin crawled inside Taka’s kennel and slept beside him. Dr. Martin’s love and dedication for her profession ensured that Taka felt that he was loved, which helped ease his pain and anxiety.
Despite the odds stacked against him, Taka miraculously recovered. He was moved into a foster home where he continued to heal. Although Dr. Martin considered adopting Taka, she already had dogs in her home. She’s also a new mom and adopting Taka would be too much for her family to handle.
Taka needed lots of private care and Dr. Martin hopes that Taka will find the right forever home that will give him everything he needs. Here’s a heartwarming video telling Taka’s story and how a veterinarian comforted him during his time of need.
