An esteemed rescue organization called Stray Rescue of St. Louis dedicates itself to saving dogs no one would help or who are at risk of being put down. They also help pooches that have been left behind.
In one of their most recent missions, Stray Rescue of St. Louis managed to save a dog that was trapped inside an abandoned school. Once the dog was saved, he received the most fitting name: Teacher’s Pet.
Saving Teacher’s Pet
A couple of ladies who lived close to the abandoned school had been hearing howls from the said building. That was why they decided to call Stray Rescue of St. Louis. When the rescuers arrived, they found that there were actually two dogs in the building. However, it appeared that Teacher’s Pet was the only one trapped.
In a rescue video below recorded by the team, you could see that Teacher’s Pet was standing by the second-floor window, watching the rescuers approach him. The entrances were barred, forcing the team to climb into the window using a ladder.
Donna Lochmann, the organization’s lead rescuer and photographer, tried to persuade Teacher’s Pet to come to her. It didn’t take long until the team saw Teacher’s Pet shyly peeking around the stairwell’s corner.
Teacher’s Pet is now named Ollie
Starved and scared, Teacher’s Pet had obviously been inside the abandoned building for a while. But the rescue operation didn’t stop with feeding Teacher’s Pet some tasty treats. Subsequently, the rescuers had to get the dog out the window using the ladder. This was quite difficult, but they managed to pull it off.
Teacher’s Pet eventually found a loving family. In fact, he received his new name – Ollie! From his current looks, he appears to be happy and healthy. Stray Rescue of St. Louis shares on Facebook that Ollie doesn’t remember being scared, alone, and starving in the abandoned school. All the pup knows now is that he is being spoiled.
