Every Pet’s Dream, a foster-based rescue in Santa Clara, California, received a call about a sick puppy that needed immediate help. The poor puppy sat inside a cardboard box that was left on a curbside in the middle of San Jose. He was helpless and terrified and there was nothing he could do but cry.
The rescue organization instantly agreed to be the puppy’s sponsor. They arranged for his rescue and quickly took him to the nearest animal hospital for medical care. They didn’t think he’d make it because he was so frail and fragile, but they knew they had to try and save his life.
The vets estimated the puppy was no more than three weeks old. And like the rescuers, they didn’t think he would make it past through the night. But still, they did what they could to help him.
Besides being anemic, the puppy, named Jackson, later on, was underweight. He was less than a pound when he first arrived at his foster home. But thanks to his foster mom, he slowly added weight. She watched him closely and gave him everything he needed to ensure he survived.
After receiving the medical care he needed, Jackson began to transform. He didn’t just become healthy. He also turned out to be an incredibly sweet boy. He loved to cuddle with his foster mom and he took his time soaking all of her attention and love.
Ashley was the best foster mom Jackson could ever have. She monitored him 24/7, gave him formula every couple of hours, and then fed him wet puppy food once she determined he was much stronger. She was beside him all the time.
Jackson faced challenges as he grew up. But because of his foster family, he adapted to his environment just fine. He learned how to be brave, and he became a fierce little dog that loves life so much.
Soon, Jackson completely healed and he was more than ready to start fresh. Thanks to his rescuers, it didn’t take him very long before he found the perfect family.
