A woman from Chrisney, Indiana surrendered a five-year-old chihuahua mix to a nonprofit organization because her neighbor couldn’t take care of it anymore. The rescue group willingly took her and sent the pooch named Sudie to one of their foster volunteers. Unbeknownst to them, the dog was pregnant.
Newborns
The woman who took Sudie in is Tessa McCauley. She has long fostered animals in need, and her home has welcomed many of these abandoned and stray creatures. She was pleasantly surprised when she discovered that Sudie was about to give birth.
After staying with the pregnant dog the whole night, Tessa was caring for three newborn puppies. The kind foster mom, who used to work as a zookeeper, didn’t have any problems providing love and care for the unexpected puppies. In fact, she even took in two tiny kittens at the same time.
She heard that the kittens were unwanted by their mother and needed someone to provide them nurturing. This meant having to hand-feed them every several hours and ensuring that they are warm and comfortable.
Surrogate mom
Tessa had this idea to introduce the kittens to Sudie and her litter. She hoped that the new mother would also nurture the tiny felines. Thankfully, she guessed right. Sudie took them in right away and allowed them to snuggle up to her and her babies.
The loving surrogate mom kept them warm and would even lick them clean. She treated them as if they were her own. But Sudie didn’t just stop there.
Tessa was also fostering and hand-feeding another small pup, and she also tried to see if Sudie would let the puppy join her growing family. As expected, the caring dog welcomed the newcomer. Sudie had so much love to share around.
It’s very heartwarming to see that despite their differences, they can all get along.
