The Street Life to Sweet Life animal rescue worker Samantha Zimmer drove around town to look for a dog to rescue from the harsh and lonely streets when she came across four dogs scattered throughout a random parking lot. Samantha set up a trap with food inside, hoping that the stray pups would get in before the freezing winter night comes.
The three dogs were caught in the trap without much difficulty because they did not hesitate to go inside the kennel and eat it. However, one of the last pups left, Boomer, did sniff the food from outside the kennel, but he was too scared to go inside.
Samantha knew she had to leave Boomer for the night to bring the other dogs she rescued to a warm, safe place. She admitted feeling horrible for leaving Boomer for the night, but one of her friends luckily volunteered to try and rescue Boomer again the following day.
Boomer was immediately brought to Samantha as soon as he got caught. Samantha decided to foster Boomer until he finds his fur-ever home because nobody wanted to volunteer and take care of Boomer temporarily.
Boomer was unsure of everything and every one as soon as he arrived in Samantha’s home. He did not want to pass through any doors and acted as if there was an invisible forcefield right at the door, which prevented him from going inside the house.
Samantha shared that Boomer’s personality started to come out a few weeks after realizing that he was finally safe and in good hands after a month of being in her home. Boomer became a much happier dog, more confident, and loves greeting everybody he comes across during his walks.
Boomer took a while before getting to where he is now with self-confidence because of the past he endured. However, she slowly realized that Boomer taught her how to be more patient and understanding.
