For most dog owners, the beach is always the perfect destination for dogs to play in. The wide-open spaces are perfect for them to stretch their legs to do their zoomies, and they can also go swimming, which most dogs love doing. Some dogs would even get really excited whenever their owners ask them if they want to go to the beach.
In Adelaide, Australia, a man named Rob Osborn took his family to the beach. Rob also took his dog, Max, so he could enjoy a day of doing zoomies and going swimming. However, something happened at the beach that made Max a real hero. Just as Rob was going into the water with Max, he noticed that a boy was panicking nearby. It appeared that a strong current carried the boy to the deep part of the sea. The boy was also surrounded by huge rocks, which would have been dangerous and terrifying.
Rob’s first instinct was to get in the water to save the boy but he noticed that Max was already in the water swimming towards the boy. Seeing that Max was already on his way, Rob called out to the boy and told him to call for Max and grab onto Max’s lifejacket. Thankfully, the boy heard Rob’s instructions and followed them.
As soon as the boy grabbed onto Max’s life jacket, Max turned around and swam back to shore. The boy’s mother was so relieved that her son was safe and she was also thankful to Max and Rob for rescuing her child. If it wasn’t for Max, the boy could have easily gotten swept away by the strong currents and drown or he would have been bashed up against the rocks.
Of course, Max got praised for his heroic action. Rob wasn’t able to get the boy and the mother’s name or details but he’s hoping that they’ll reach out to let him know how the kid was after experiencing such a terrifying situation. Max may not know it but his actions that day turned him into a real hero. He’s definitely going to get lots of pets, belly rubs, and yummy treats. Here’s a video showing how Max saved the little boy from drowning.
