Jack only weighed 1.2 pounds when a woman named Paola started fostering him. He came from a private shelter where someone dumped him days before.
When he arrived at their home, he was very scared and confused. He was just a couple of weeks old and everything frightened him. Every time he was left alone, Jack would cry and wail.
To help calm him down and get familiarized with his environment, the family decided to sleep with him and keep him company. All of them took turns to make him feel secure and comfortable.
A few days after that, Jack finally realized that they were his pack and he could trust them.
Chewer
One of the few things that Jack loved to do was to chew. He would bite on anything that he could get his teeth on and would do it all the time. Nothing was safe in their house, even the humans. The dog would bite on their hands, chin, legs, and ears.
When he was on his bed, he would chew his blanket until he fell asleep. Amazingly, when they gave him toys that he could play and bite on, he would refuse to do so.
Paola was getting worried that if he doesn’t lose his habit it might be difficult to get him a forever family. He might become destructive or hurt someone. The last thing that she wanted was for Jack to go to a home and be returned soon after. This will be just too confusing for the dog and may cause some mental trauma.
As it turned out, finding a forever family was not going to be difficult.
Foster fail
At first, the owner of the rescue organization that took Jack in wanted to adopt him. But he soon realized that the dog had a special bond with Paola’s daughter, Ali. The two were always together and had amazing times doing almost anything. Jack would always be by her side and would always look for her.
All of them saw this and they knew that Jack was where he was supposed to be.
