German shepherds are just too awesome. Not only are they some of the bravest doggos around, but they are also highly intelligent. That’s why it’s really no surprise that they are being deployed in the military and in the police force. They are so good at catching the bad guys, they could do it without a day of training.
If that’s hard to believe, then just check out this four-month-old puppy named Keeper. This German shepherd pup belongs to Edward Swingle, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. But despite his dad being a veteran with several medals on his wall, Keeper is just your typical pet doggo.
That is until a suspect being chased by cops landed in their neighborhood in Scottdale, Pennsylvania. The suspect was identified as Corey Pandullo. This man allegedly fought with a police officer and he was able to run away. Pandullo then carjacked an SUV but the vehicle got stuck. At this point, the suspect was in Swingle’s neighborhood.
The veteran’s neighbors warned him about Pandullo who was already in his backyard, trying to steal his motorcycle. The suspect botched the carjacking attempt so he ran towards Swingle’s front door. That’s when the veteran unleashed Keeper to apprehend the Pandullo.
Keeper ran towards Pandullo and bit the man’s pant leg. The puppy then pulled the suspect away from the front door, and at this point, Swingle called off his doggo, and he asked Pandullo why he was trying to break into his house. The suspect did not answer, but instead, tried to break into the house once more.
The veteran sent Keeper after Pandullo again, and this time, he didn’t call the doggo off. Swingle then pointed his firearm at Pandullo until the police officers arrived to arrest him. When the veteran was asked about his heroism, he humbly declined and said that the real hero in this story is his pup Keeper.
