A woman named Sarah Mallouk Crain decided that on her wedding day, she and her bridesmaids would not use the usual flower bouquet in favor of something more meaningful to her: adorable puppies.
Crain is employed by the Pennsylvania-based rescue charity Pitties Love Peace. Together with her then-fiancé, Matt Crain, she frequently took in foster pets. Aside from their fosters, they also own three rescue dogs. So, as dog lovers, they felt it would be a great idea to incorporate puppies available for adoption into their wedding ceremony. They requested that the bridesmaids hold pups instead of the traditional bouquet of flowers for their wedding photos.
The puppies that were used in the photoshoot were boxer-coonhound mixes. They were just a few days old when they were rescued and given the names of former first ladies of the USA – Elizabeth, Martha, Dolley, Abigail, and Louisa. At 8 weeks old, they were definitely the best thing to carry during the wedding.
The participation of pups at the wedding made everyone, not just the bride and groom, quite happy. They also had photographs taken that were casual, spontaneous, and very natural, much to the delight of their photographer. The wedding party also appreciated all of the cuddles they got from the puppies.
As for the bride, she opted to hold a 9-week-old pit bull mix from New York City named Biggie Smalls. She stated that it was crucial for her to hold the pit bull because their rescue group mostly focuses on saving pit bulls. They have rescued other kinds, including beagles and mastiffs, but they prioritize saving as many pit bulls as possible.
It was not only the bridesmaids who were able to cuddle the adorable dogs as the groomsmen did not allow the party to conclude without participating.
