Dog lover Dan Tillery from Michigan wanted to adopt a dog. After he fell in love with Diggy at an animal shelter, he took the dog home and shared its cute photo on social media. Later, police officers came to visit Tillery’s house.
To make a long story short, Tillery lives in Waterford Township, Michigan, which bans pit bulls. Officers went to Tillery’s house after hearing reports that the dog violated their town’s breed ban. They told Tillery that they believed Diggy was a pit bull and gave him three days to get rid of it.
Tillery didn’t want to get separated from his dog, so he gathered enough evidence to prove that his dog was an American Bulldog, not a pit bull. After almost a month of legal battles, Tillery eventually won, and the town of Waterford Township, Michigan, allowed him to keep his dog. The town also changed its ordinance and now allows owners of dogs suspected of being pit bulls to prove their pet isn’t one.
Diggy’s owner is happy to have the dog back home where he belongs. A lot of places ban pit bulls. This is because they think that pit bulls are dangerous and aggressive.
However, pit bulls are not aggressive at all. They may have a bad reputation for being dangerous dogs, but the truth is that many other breeds are more dangerous than pit bulls. Many people love pit bulls and have them as pets.
These people disagree with the ban on pit bulls. They say that these dogs are not aggressive and have good temperaments. Pitbulls indeed have strong jaws, but many other breeds have stronger jaws than them.
A study also shows that most of the deadly attacks were made by other breeds. That’s why there is no reason to ban pit bulls because they make great pets and will protect you from danger.
