Someone contacted Alison Gray, the founder of Bali Rescue Dog Squad in Bali, Indonesia. Tucker, a Golden Retriever, was mentioned to her and she became interested.
When she finally saw Tucker’s condition, she was astonished. Since he had spent his entire existence confined to a tiny cage, his legs had atrophied.
He was unable to walk, so he had to be carried to the veterinarian to determine if he had any additional health problems. They discovered that he had blood parasites, infected wounds, and megaesophagus, a condition in which the esophagus is enlarged. Alison saw that he was eating, which was evidence enough for her that he still had the will to live.
The physicians catered to his medical requirements. As soon as his health improved, he would undergo rehabilitation. They thought he would retain the ability to walk.
Tucker’s rehabilitation regimen has to begin with baby steps. His physician stated that he was always advancing. The therapy strengthened his legs until he was able to take a few shaky steps. Alison was happy with his progress and commended him for it.
Tucker’s cheerful disposition never changed despite spending his entire life in a cage. Alison was always greeted with a wagging tail and numerous kisses. He may never reach the average size of a Golden Retriever, but he was still lovable. Additionally, he interacted with the other rescue dogs within the facility.
Eventually, he finished his rehabilitation program and was prepared for adoption. Alison was pleased to have discovered a man named Ferris, who adopted Tucker. They turned out to be a perfect match.
Tucker cherished his independence and his new family. His relationship with his furry brother, Baloo, was quite good.
Ferris took them on frequent excursions to explore Bali and go surfing.
Tucker’s abnormal gait does not prevent him from running on the beach. He also is enjoying his new life.
