Countless dogs continue to endure abuse and neglect at the hands of humans. Many of these dogs spend their entire lives in cages, are never taken to the veterinarian, and have never experienced affection. It’s tragic that many dogs are mistreated by their owners when all they want is to give and receive affection.
Journey used to have an owner who did not give him attention and was abusive. Since he was confined to a small cage in his first year of life, he was never exposed to the outside world. Journey was kept in a cage outside the home, and his owner did not even take him to the vet. He had an ear infection that was left untreated and that made him deaf.
Eventually, the neighbor complained to animal control that a vicious dog was confined in the neighbor’s yard. This was how Journey was transported to the local animal shelter. Journey spent over two years in the pound, which caused him to develop severe kennel anxiety.
The volunteers at the animal shelter enjoyed spending time with Journey. However, a dog still needs a proper home.
Nicole, one of the pound’s volunteers, was determined to give Journey the life he deserved. She wanted him to experience what it is like to be a member of a family.
The woman decided to foster Journey to prevent him from being euthanized. She wanted Journey to smile and experience all that life has to offer.
Since bringing Journey home, Nicole has worked tirelessly to secure Journey’s adoption.
To aid with Journey’s adoption, Nicole exposed him to numerous positive experiences. Journey enjoys running around in the park and interacting with other dogs. Additionally, he enjoys cuddling with Nicole. She even hired a trainer for Journey.
Journey is deaf but familiar with basic hand signal commands. He only needs a permanent home and a real family.
Nicole and her family significantly changed Journey’s life. Now, he is prepared to move on and find a permanent home.
