Taesik, a Pug, lived a difficult life on the streets for quite a while. He thought his struggles would never end but things eventually got better when he was rescued and he was so happy to find a loving family.
The dog’s life completely changed the moment he was home. He no longer had to rummage through the garbage just to find something to eat. He had a bed and blanket to keep him warm at night. Most importantly, he was no longer on his own.
Shortly after his rescue, Taesik met his new dog sibling, Eunae. Like him, she also struggled to survive. But while they came from the same backgrounds, they didn’t get along. Instead of being best friends, they became each other’s worst enemy.
Eunae attacked and bullied Taesik. She stole his food all the time, and she hated seeing him so close to any of their family members, especially their dad. She wasn’t interested in sharing so she made sure that he was left with nothing; not food nor love or attention.
Every time the dogs got into a fight, their dad was quick to break them apart. He always grabbed Eunae away and carried her in his arms until she calmed down. As a result, Taesik thought their dad was on Eunae’s side.
Taesik was so depressed. He lost interest in almost everything, even food. He didn’t want to play and he didn’t want to eat, especially when Eunae was around. But instead of losing weight, he gained a lot of excess pounds because he had so much unused energy.
It was time for Taesik to lose all those excess pounds. But before anything else, the dogs needed to get along with each other. So under the supervision of a renowned animal behavior expert, they both underwent training. It was quite a bit of a challenge at first but with repetitive action, Eunae learned to share things with her sibling and Taesik started to feel cheery again.
Taesik needs to lose more than half of his current weight. He knows it will surely take time and hard work and he is more than determined to achieve a healthy weight.
