When dogs get excited during playtime, they unintentionally get hurt. Those chasing other pets at home may accidentally bump against a wall. Some get hit by a ball or a frisbee. Others may fall into the water.
The latter example is what you’ll see in this story. A dog from Miami Beach, Florida accidentally fell into the bay. But thankfully, first responders from the local fire department arrived to rescue her.
The dog’s dilemma
An unnamed dog and her owner were playing at a park when the pooch accidentally fell into the water. In a video released by the Miami Beach Fire Department, you could see two firefighters teaming up to save the pup.
The first firefighter lowered himself into the thigh-deep water using a roof ladder. Then, he grabbed the pooch by her harness and carried her in his arms like a baby.
The second firefighter went into the water to make sure that the first fighter would be safe as he climbed the ladder Once the first firefighter reached the top of the ladder, he handed the dog to another rescuer. Meanwhile, a man documenting the rescue with his camera gently patted the wet pooch on her head.
An unnamed woman, presumably the dog’s owner, apologized to the rescuers for the trouble that her furbaby caused. She then asked her dog to say her thanks to the first responders. However, the dog just shook her body and sprayed everyone around her with water.
The netizens’ response to the incident
The video of the pup’s rescue garnered more than one million views on Facebook. As of this writing, it has over 71K reactions and 1.2K comments. A lot of netizens praised the firefighters for their quick response.
